By Fernando André
Panasonic GH2
FilmConvert Pro - Sony Vegas Plugin
Film settings: Mainly Kodak Vision 3 5207.
A gorgeous piece of work. Philip Bloom
Sublime, evocative photography. - Tom Lowe
This was one of the strongest videos that resonated with me. I feel that even a little bit of historical footage (video or stills) of a soccer match, or stock footage of fans would have elevated this even further. Very strong nonetheless. Vincent Laforet
2nd Place - $500
By Brennan Robideaux
RED One MX
FilmConvert Pro - After Effects, Premiere (OSX)
Film settings: Kodak Vision 3 5207
Beautiful visually but also utterly fascinating. Terrific on all front. Visuals, lighting, audio and of course content. - Philip Bloom
What pleased me about A Riehl Blacksmith was the breadth of the types of shots, movements, and lighting captured - macro, CU, MS, wide, slider, interviews, etc. - Steve Gibby
Strong visuals and a very solid edit - a bit too formulaic at times perhaps. It's hard to knock this piece as it does very few things wrong, however there is a certain amount of energy missing that would have helped make it a bit more fresh... definitely a clear finalist with strong visuals and skill. - Vincent Laforet
3rd Place - $250
By Aditya Kapur
Canon 5D Mark III
FilmConvert Pro - After Effects, Premiere (OSX)
Film settings: Fuji Velvia 100
Evocative shots with a lovely grade that captures the location perfectly. I just wish we could have seen Jivraj at the top and tail. I always find it hard to connect to someone when I don't know what they look like. - Philip Bloom
The visuals were strong as was the pacing and energy of this piece, helped bring this piece to the final group. - Vincent Laforet
Every shot tells a story. - Tom Lowe
