The Sigma fp came out of the blue, from a company better know for its line of affordable, high-quality video and stills lenses. But Sigma’s take on an entirely new line of camera systems has top-of-the-line specs, packed into the smallest and lightest full-frame camera body available.
The Sigma fp is part of the L-Mount alliance between Sigma, Panasonic and Leica, meaning a huge amount of compatibility with a wide range of lenses and accessories. The camera can record 12-bit lossless CinemaDNG RAW files at UHD4K resolution, meaning the ultimate in image quality and grading potential. We’ve included a CinemaDNG BMD Film profile for all users shooting RAW and using FilmConvert in DaVinci Resolve.
It also has an innovative director’s viewfinder function that allows the user to simulate different framings of cinema cameras from select manufacturers. Coming soon to CineMatch as well, you could potentially use the Sigma fp as your ultimate universal b-cam to any other camera!

Many thanks to Jon Kane, who flew down to Wellington from Auckland to lend us the camera for profiling. You can see more of his work at https://www.instagram.com/mrjonkane
