It is here that EmbraceAbility has made its home, providing services aimed at empowering children with disabilities and their families to lift themselves from poverty, promoting their dignity and independence so that they may participate fully in their communities. Stories of Note presents Stories from Silk Island, a series of films that looks candidly into the eyes of Koh Dach children and into the minds of their parents, giving unique insight into a life unlike ours, and a journey with EmbraceAbility towards equality and inclusivity.

Anthracite is the most valuable coal. With my camera, I submerged into an old mining tunnel near my hometown of Osnabrück in western Germany. The "Hasestollen" was laid out between 1853 and 1856. The tunnel was excavated and opened to the public in 1997. The point of the film is LIFE. Workers might lost their lives doing their work, but ... there is still life where there is light down there. A short 3-min doco about the gifted custom moped & bike builders Holy Spokes and their wild bunch of motor heads. I challenged myself to create a documentary without quotes, trying to captures the essence of what makes these motor heads tick without words. During the shoot it struck me that their way of life somehow resembles the 4 stages of life in Hinduism, hence the expression Mopedism in the title. Btw: The bylines of the chapter titles are in slangy Swiss German, translating the English main titles with a slight irony - unfortunately this cannot be adequately translated into English without getting lost in translation.

Documentary based on the daily work of gold miners in Abangares, Costa Rica. La Fortuna is the name of the mine where the film was made.

Captured in the Magic City's Spring Garden neighborhood and starring local scenesters Jessy Nite, Nick Lobo, Magnus Sodamin and the members of the notorious Jacuzzi Boys; Moon stars in the role of his own Cracker Jack alter ego in a trajectory that mirrors Rick's own addiction struggles in a cinema short of the absurd. The earnest and energetic sound of Rick Moon and a rhythm section supplied by Luis Del Valle of Buscabulla becomes the soundtrack for a surprise party, a bust, an oddball trial and strange rituals complete with a house party performance that elevates our anti-hero to states of higher consciousness and well being.
