Doomadgee women look beyond themselves, rekindling a sense of purpose by helping Papua New Guinean women in extreme poverty. This documentary was a journey of exploration for the heart of our story, Veronica. This story lives in two locations, Doomadgee, Australia, a remote indigenous community and Mabaduan, Papua New Guinea, an even more remote coastal community. Our team consisted of an international team (director from USA, DP & Cinematographer from Canada), while our subjects were from a remote indigenous community in the far north west Queensland, Australia and our travel took us to an incredibly remote village in Papua New Guinea. Film Convert was our primary tool for grading and added the essential emotional theme.

A story about Mbhekiseni Magaye who left behind his pregnant girlfriend at the age of 22 and went to the city to look out for a job. When he reached his 40s he experienced midlife crises that forced him to recalled his root.

A short 3-min doco about the gifted custom moped & bike builders Holy Spokes and their wild bunch of motor heads. I challenged myself to create a documentary without quotes, trying to captures the essence of what makes these motor heads tick without words. During the shoot it struck me that their way of life somehow resembles the 4 stages of life in Hinduism, hence the expression Mopedism in the title. Btw: The bylines of the chapter titles are in slangy Swiss German, translating the English main titles with a slight irony - unfortunately this cannot be adequately translated into English without getting lost in translation.

Living in the foster system has made her tough but after being abused by her foster father she was left feeling helpless and alone. On her 16th birthday she receives a mysterious gift. A key to a storage unit that contains the one thing she never expected to find, a 1998 Jeep Wrangler. The same make and model her birth mother owned before she died. Where did this Jeep come from? Why is it here? TJ and her friends take the Jeep to seek out answers to its origin and its mysterious appearance in her life.

A music video we filmed in two days, filming in Prespa was incredible, especially at the abandoned hotel “Evropa”. Although the flames were not planned in the shoot, we came up with that shot on the road and I’m glad we did them.

Shot in just one day and using FilmConvert for color-grading, this touching film is about the tragedy of a young life lost, opportunities missed and the need for “attention, attention (to be) paid”.
