This is a freshly color corrected and slightly edited version of a film I did 5 years ago. I used Premiere Pro CC and FilmConvert.

The story takes place in India, with a group of women who are training to become midwives. This film shows snippets of a typical day at a maternity hospital.

This is my first film, made in documentary style as a promo for YWAM Perth's healthcare schools and ministries. Shot mostly with a Canon 7D though there are a few a 5D MK II shots as well.

I remember you, all of you. The picture isn't always of the whole you, but of pieces joined together, a palimpsest of experience. You are complete, but in my own way. The way I see you. I remember how it felt to move my fingers through your hair, and to put my palm to your lean muscles. Each movement gave me something important. And I will always remember how you made me feel. Her last ride. That is what she wanted captured. She asked us to create a film that encapsulated her bond with her best friend. No directing. Just a simple ride. Her last ride.

If you care for someone with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, you’re dealing with the loss of a person you loved while you also come to terms with the person that remains. Loving that new person by letting them have their space and dignity is perhaps the hardest and best thing that you can do. This is for my dad - his past, present and future versions.

During August 2018 the Indian state of Kerala experienced the worst floods in that region for nearly 100 years. Almost one year since then here is Shaji talking about life as a fisherman on the Kerala backwaters, what happened during the floods and some of the problems he, his family and their community now face.

"A Life on the Line" is an exploratory film; it follows a weekend on a trapline with my father in May, 2014. He explains, how trappers have a deep connection to the wild and how just being in the woods is often the greatest reward for those who continue in this traditional way of life.

I don't wish to glamorize the harvesting of animals, I merely wish to shed some light on a lifestyle that my ancestors thrived on and, that for all intents and purposes created the country of Canada.

A short look into the process of a new mother and father giving birth to their first baby.

A Nordic Skater is a very first film about this little known sport. It features Per Sollerman, a photographer who has been skating on frozen lakes and fjords for the past 10 years. During 6 captivating minutes, the viewer is transported to the region of Oslo to have a peek at a story of a man who uses every sense he has to travel on thin ice. Per tells the story of how the little known sport of nordic skating came to play a big part in his life. “It is rooted deep in our bones that we need to be out in the nature,” he says. I’m not sure why it took me four years to craft these two minutes. I guess when you set out to make a mood piece about time, you’re subject to all sorts of irony. This is a goodbye to a friend that I will never be finished making.

It’s been 14 years since I last visited my homeland of Trinidad. A lot has changed since then. I didn’t have much time during my 3 day visit starting late Boxing day evening 2015 but I wanted to catch a flavour, a taste of Trinidad. I wanted to give a taste of some of my favourite food and the places that helped shape my memories... Until the next time. Doomadgee women look beyond themselves, rekindling a sense of purpose by helping Papua New Guinean women in extreme poverty. This documentary was a journey of exploration for the heart of our story, Veronica. This story lives in two locations, Doomadgee, Australia, a remote indigenous community and Mabaduan, Papua New Guinea, an even more remote coastal community. Our team consisted of an international team (director from USA, DP & Cinematographer from Canada), while our subjects were from a remote indigenous community in the far north west Queensland, Australia and our travel took us to an incredibly remote village in Papua New Guinea. Film Convert was our primary tool for grading and added the essential emotional theme.

Since getting this baby 3 months ago I keep it in a small backpack I try to take with me when I’m riding my bike or traveling the world.
Love the full frame sensor, the retro look, the great viewfinder (let’s you pretend you are shooting stills) S-log and the crazy ISO numbers you can now dare to use.
I shot mostly handheld but used a rhino slider on few shots.

Berlin based art duo have been working non stop to create their pop icon mixed media art for more than 20 years. Bullet holes hold fond memories in and around former East Berlin - remembering the Berlin wall and the life of never knowing what the next day would bring.

abroadlives promotes charities around the world with the aim to promote conscious traveling. We visited Nepal and met amazing people who generously shared their stories with us. We also did some great activities including the world's biggest zip line, whitewater rafting and off-road adventures. Nepal needs more tourist to explore the country as tourism is its biggest provider of jobs and income. We hope that through our documentary, people will see that Nepal is safe to visit after the earthquake, all its beauty is intact and the people are incredible!

Back in 2017, I went on a missions trip to Mirebalais, Haiti. Here's one of the stories I captured. Because of the Haiti Free School Project, Alexis can go to school for free along with 500 other students. It was incredible to see the impact it's had on their lives. I'm eager to get back.

A beautiful insight into the mind of talented artist Alexis Rago, and a look at his work featured in the 'Chaos Contained' exhibition currently touring the UK.
