I shot this as an experiment while driving to see if I could collect footage and edit together a loose storyline out of it. It was shot in the dead of winter in the midwest at night, so I really wanted to bring out the overall cold color instead of the yellow overhead freeway lamps, as well as the grain of winter.

Editing on a friend's machine, I was able to use FilmConvert Pro with the Kodak Vision 3 5207 stock to capture that look that was best for the story.

Three vignettes told through the voices of three disparate characters who all feel a sense of disconnectedness: a lonely woman is hounded by the sound of barking dogs in her neighborhood; a wayward cowboy's regrets are filtered through an imaginative creation story; a young woman hears her mother's advice in every action she takes.

A troubled teenage boy, growing up in a dreamless wilderness, is stripped of his dignity as his father abandons him for the outside world which he is trying to retreat from.

This dance film has been inspired by Tilly Soldan, who lived in Finland during 1873-1931. Tilly lived over 20 years as a third wheel with her sister and her sister´s husband. This film is a short scene to demonstrate full-length dance film about Tilly life.

I've always wanted to do my own miniature! Inspired by Thunderbirds and cheesy 80s cop show I loved as a child. The set is 1/43 scale roughly. No stop motion. - Images and Music by Justin Tierney - Tokyo Aglow is a time-lapse tour of the Japanese capital by road and rail. An automated monorail flows through Odaiba and arrives downtown. A taxi whips to converging clusters of crowds in Shibuya. Scores surge and stream, tangle and scramble. Weaving and knotting, the masses of people rhythmically engage with the machinery of modern life. Japanese inspired chords underpin the music of the piano. Trombone, trumpet and violin map to the patterns recurrent and emergent. Crosswalk chimes, chirps and cuckoos echo into the night. - - - The time-lapses were shot in raw (with a 5D Mark III and a Sony A7s) developed in Lightroom, edited and color graded with the help of FilmConvert in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. I composed the music at the piano with paper and pencil, input it into Finale 2014, recorded the music into Pro Tools in two separate recording sessions, processed the field recording in Ableton and Max MSP, and executed the final edits in Adob

Traveled to Japan in June 2016 and captured some images within the two cities of Tokyo and Kyoto using my GH4. I wanted to highlight the differences between the two showing city life in Tokyo & the temples and shrines found in Kyoto.
