PARIS.MACHINE.LOVE is a tiny short film on a moment of love and compassion between (wo)man and machine, filmed in Paris. The short film is about artificial intelligence and the first ATM/cash machine to gain consciousness - as machines become ever more evolved and connected to the world. The idea being it is that they are coded by men, in a language which is different from ours but would still allow for (human) error - or bugs. As opposed to the traditional view that intelligent machines would be 100% rational entities, this film takes into account human flaws as trait or characters that would be passed on to them. And so therefore the cash machine in the film assumes human-like behaviour and is prone to the same flaws and weaknesses. But the core message is that we don't know what machines will do in the future when they surpass our capabilities - and how we interact with them is likely to influence this as well. Shot with Canon G7X, edited with Final Cut Pro + FilmConvert. The Isola di Sant'Erasmo (St. Erasmus) is the largest island in the Venetian lagoon, though it's only sparsely populated. For years this has been Venice's countryside, the agricultural zone which produces the fruit and vegetables consumed by the hungry city. Among its produce, particularly renowned are the artichokes (carciofi). The landscape is flat, and dotted with farms and rural small-holdings. It couldn't be more different from Venice, whose bell-towers and churches can be seen on the skyline.

This was produced in 2016 for New Zealand Rugby as part of their positive sideline behaviour initiative called 'Applaud'. In the style of a film trailer (there is no movie...yet). The goal was to show how great rugby was (this was a real under 12 game - not contrived) and then contrast it with something negative from a parent on the sideline. The Filmconvert grade (FJSuper X 400/KD 5213 Vis3) was instrumental in hammering home the mood change.

I spent a great weekend with friends in a cottage in North Karelia in Finland. We played Finnish folk game Mölkky, fried pancakes, went to the sauna, as well as enjoyed being together and picturesque landscape. Special thanks to my friends: Anni, Emilia L., Salla, Henna, Emilia S., Tuomo and Jussi The whole video was shot completely handheld on my new mid-range mirrorless camera Sony A6300.

This short film was shot on location in Los Angeles, Victorville, Lancaster, Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon and some other locations in between California and Arizona. We've used FimConvert for Grading inside Avid MediaComposer.

Promotional web video for croatian athlete Marijo Moznik. Another interesting challenge that I had as a director and cinematographer. In mid March 2016 I had to make a short promo video for one of the best gymnast in Croatia, European champion Marijo Možnik. His sponsors Red Bull, Audi and Tag Heuer wanted a dynamic 2.5 minute long film about one day in his life, partially filmed from his point of view. Main target were social networks, media and other promotional channels and main goal was to promote Marijo as an athlete but also to present a little bit of his private life to the audience. After detailed briefing and meetings, shooting started in the end of March. It took two days and 6 locations both in and outdoors. I had a very precise schedule without any deviations, although I filmed 10-12 hours per day. The most demanding spot was Sokol gym hall in center of Zagreb. The building itself is very old with poor natural lighting and to make things even worse, very bad neon lights

My name is Gabe Sanchez, I'm 17 years old and recently I went to London, England. On the trip I took it upon myself to create a film illustrating small moments in the lives of everyday people who live there. The film is meant to be an observation of the place and the people in "snapshots" as the title suggests. It also includes a segment shot in Brighton. The entire film was shot internally on the GH4, using the Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 and the GH4's V-Log L profile. Graded with FilmConvert in premiere pro using the FJ 8543 VD stock.
