At least that’s the vibe the director, Randal Kirk II, was hoping to capture with his latest branded piece for clothing company Night:Shift Goods. With hippie-styled attire and rainbow flares everywhere, as well as a guest appearance from legendary folk musician and photographer Henry Diltz, I’d say he got pretty close! I made this video to sponsor the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride (location Leeuwarden) to promote their good cause and as a call to action. It was so much fun to do but it also was al lot of work doing it by myself (script, camera, lights, editing). Luckily the "actors" where very so easy to work with (they are from the organisation by the way). Filmconvert is always my first go to in colorgrading and especially with this project which has a strong vintage feel with all these classic bikes! I hope you enjoy the video, it has a serious message but we tried to bring it with a little wink (don't know if this is an English saying as well :-) )

Commercial Clip for german camera store Foto Leistenschneider, which is going to open a new store in Frankfurt at the horsemarket (Rossmarkt). The horse belongs to the photographer Nina Wilkesmann, a twelve years old white horse, which we coulered with beetroot. The cool part about this story is the owner, Ron Loe, has traced his genealogy back over 1,000 years ago to Norway and found that his ancestors were woodworkers too! So I was able to mix in some footage of an old style carpenter. Fun piece!

Turning back time to the 1940's, we set out to showcase the immerse atmosphere of Bletchley Park Museum, a location which helped tip the balance of World War II. Using soundscapes provided by the museum to compliment the beautiful grounds and scenery, we used FilmConvert with footage from the Red Scarlet to try and capture the environment as it might have looked back then and to give the viewer a sample of what they might experience there.

A video I shot for an American NGO on a recent trip to Sierra Leone, West Africa. I was documenting their work and visited villages in the african bush to film the people and their everyday life.

A cheese-maker’s recipe and process is a closely-guarded secret. Internationally renowned Quicke’s contacted me under a veil of secrecy and told me of the imminent launch of their new-recipe clothbound cheese. The introduction of a new ingredient, Cornish Sea Salt, was a really big deal. In close collaboration with Quicke’s I created ‘This Land’ a poetry-driven brand film and a series of four recipe films with Cornwall chef Ben Quinn. The content series is designed to knit together the fabric of the Quicke’s and Cornish Sea Salt brands to celebrate and promote this ‘new wave’ in cheese making.

A short film for The Rye Retreat, a salon and spa situated in the centre of the Cinque Port town of Rye, in Sussex, UK. The objective was to mirror the modern, exciting and friendly atmosphere of the place, with a view to attracting new staff as well as customers. It was filmed on a single sunny day in July (2017) and was almost exclusively hand-held, with a few slider shots thrown in for good measure.

I run a 'technology' Youtube channel mainly used to exercise my cinematography. I'm using this as a means to create a portfolio and to network. This film is a product comparison between two very popular smartphones that are pushing the envelope when it comes to providing the latest specs at a very cheap price.
