After a decade of working in the animation and VFX industry I've decided to dive into live action filmmaking. The whole cast and crew consisted of me and my wife Agata Szczepanska. It was especially challenging to have both of us on the screen. Most shots were shot one a Sony a6500 with 18-105 f/4 on a Zhiyun-Tech Crane v2 Gimbal. All shots inside the car and few additional closeups shot with a Sony a7SII with FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM lens. Additionally I used a RØDE VideoMic Pro and a shoulder rig. Edited on Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Music (Musicbed.com): Heritage by Quinn Erwin. Sound Design by Ben Sanders.

The confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was politically divisive, but Walt Whitman's 19th century wisdom is timeless. In 1892, the poet wrote in prose: "I have sometimes thought, indeed, that the sole avenue and means of a reconstructed sociology depended, primarily, on a new birth, elevation, expansion, invigoration of woman." Towards the end of his life in 1888, he added "America" to his collection "Leaves of Grass," and then recited four lines from the poem, onto a wax cylinder recording, before he died (it is the only record of his voice in existence): "Centre of equal daughters, equal sons, All, all alike endear’d, grown, ungrown, young or old, Strong, ample, fair, enduring, capable, rich, Perennial with the Earth, with Freedom, Law and Love" And the written poem proceeds to say: "A grand, sane, towering, seated Mother, Chair’d in the adamant of Time." Goru Bihu Song is a viral music video from Himalayan region of India which made it to official selection of more than 100 international film festivals (Berlin, Moscow, USA, Italy, etc) across the world. It is the first of its kind Assamese experimental video directed and produced by Axl Hazarika, an avant-garde artist based in Guwahati, India. The video captures the essence of Assamese folk Bihu dance and celebration of the spirit of Goru Bihu with cow face paint. Goru Bihu is a festival celebrated on the first day of Assamese calendar month of Bohag (mid-April during the start of spring), a day before Bohag Bihu, the harvest festival of Assam. Assam is an Indian state lying in the foothills of the Himalayan region in Northeast India. The video is based on the futuristic imagination of Goru Bihu celebrations, away from the homeland, and in the absence of cows amidst a generation of technology-based live music performance.
