14th of December is the release date of Star Wars Episode XIII. For this occasion, german a cappella Ensemble Soundescape have recorded their version of John Williams famous Cantina Band, originally written for Episode IV. The video was shot with a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera on a shoulder rig in combination with a Metabones Speedbooster, a Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art and a Samyang 14mm 2.8 lens. Editing was done with DaVinci Resolve. The use of FilmConvert Pro and its seamless integration into Resolve has made grading the footage a breeze and played a huge part in being able to produce the entire video including audio recording and post production quickly in a matter of days!

Clips of my trip to the Scottish Highlands and Edinburgh with my sister and mother. We ventured through the entire city and visited Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle, The Kelpies, and many more beautiful places. I completely fell in love with Scotland, and the friendly people there. I used a Sony A7SII camera with the Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art and Sony FE 16-35mm f4.0. Both handheld and on a Ikan EC1Beholder gimbal. Footage is 4k slog-2k and HD cine 4 for high frame rates. In what can only be described as the movie event of the summer, Tiddly Films present ‘Saving Private Lion’ - an action-packed WW2 mini-epic, which is quite clearly based on a true story (hmm!) First we see a fictional dramatised account of the D-Day landings, followed by a calamitous attempt at a re-enactment of the former at the Aberystwyth Charity Raft Race in 2017 using Go Pro action cams. Filmconvert was used to try and match the look of the Go Pro footage to that of the Blackmagic Camera (which was graded using Da Vinci Resolve), achieving a bleak, WW2-movie look.

During a week off, Noelani Pantastico, Principal Dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet, comes into the studio for a couple hours of work.

We observe a young man. He s now sitting there weighing in on his options on how to commit suicide. He is not alone though, his other selves, the hippie, the cool guy and the old man are always with him. Together they go on a metaphysical journey through the young man s life, time and space don’ t matter anymore. We meet the young man as a boy-choir member, trying to run away from two very mean looking bullies. We join a party, where all his ex-girlfriends (and boyfriends) do nothing but complain about him, we go on an esoterically fuelled self healing trip and although he doesn’ t achieve spiritual enlightenment, he at least got enough material for an audiobook out of it. “monolog” is a 14-minute short film by the young Viennese-director Christian Thüringer, who also plays all the lead roles. The short film will was on festival tour world wide in 2014 and 2015 and won several awards, including best original screenplay, best actor and best video editing.
