Fran Venter is a photographer who spends most of his time on the road traveling through South Africa. I got the opportunity to travel to Ceres, South Africa with him and what we found was absolutely breathtaking.

We went away for the weekend to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I made a short film featuring my better and much more beautiful half.

A short film that combines a heartful story – as mostly told in feature films – with the look and feel of a cinematic high fashion TV commercial. The film was shot over the course of a week in October 2016, under the wonderful warmth of the Andalusian sun in picturesque Spain. The story revolves around a young woman and her two male counterparts, fiercely entangled in a play of reality and imagination – while dressed in Gucci, Jil Sander and Maison Martin Margiela. Two competing motives: desire vs. the pursuit of finding true self. Be cautious, things may not be as they appear!

Tears In The Rain, the award-winning South African sci-fi short by filmmaker Christopher Grant Harvey, is an unabashed love letter to the 1982 motion picture 'Blade Runner', and Philip K. Dick's novel 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?' Set in Los Angeles in the latter part of the twenty-first century, the short stars Sean Cameron Michael as John Kampff, a mysterious law enforcement official who is tracking down a man named Andy Smith (Russel Savadier), who is suspected of being a replicant: an artificial being almost indistinguishable from humans. With its haunting, 80s-inspired synthesized score, futuristic Los Angeles cityscape complete with flying cars, looming ultra-skyscrapers, and neon-haloed, grime covered streets, Tears In The Rain convincingly duplicates the dark dystopian aesthetic of Blade Runner. ​

One of the most rewarding and honoring parts of being a wedding filmmaker is when you are hired again and again to film for a family. After capturing her sister’s wedding several years ago and then multiple family functions through the years - Christina and her lovely family brought us back - this time to New York City and the grand-famous Cipriani Wall Street. Teaming up with my lovely and talented wife Vanessa Joy of Vanessa Joy Photography made this a double-treat and twice as nice. I think it’s safe to say that Christina’s father Mario brings the emotion to new heights in this theatrical trailer.

The Kulkwitzer See belongs to a group of lakes near Leipzig, Germany. The lake resulted from two lignite opencast minings. Today the "Kulki" is well-known for its great visibilities and huge fish.

'Papier' is a song by Polish-Lemko band LemON. LemON is the brainchild of the founder Igor Herbut. After winning Must Be The Music, LemON became one of the most popular bands in Poland. The music video was directed by Zosia Zija and Jacek Pioro.

This is a short film showing the incredible light and landscape of some of the Scottish mountains and lochs. Driving around Scotland in a van is an experience that surpassed expectations, even though they were high to begin with. The reason for the trip was a location recce for an upcoming short film project, it's safe to say we found some stunning locations. We only had 6 days, it just wasn't enough, there is so much to see and I just wanted to stop and take it all in.

'Working the Sea' follows the fortunes of the Bagwells, a Sidmouth fishing family from the forties when young Stan was fishing with his father in a borrowed boat, to the nineties when they have two fish shops, two trawlers fishing out of Brixham, and three boats working off the beach at Sidmouth. Then, tragedy strikes and the women of the family pick up the pieces. The film also weaves the contemporary users of the coast, from the sailing club to the lifeboat, into the narrative. So this is ultimately a film about community spirit and how a mutual love of and respect for the sea draws people together. 'This stunning film: fascinating and inspiring, funny and humbling is a powerful reminder how lucky we are on the coast'. Lucy & Connor's wedding film. Filmed at the beautiful Tocal Homestead in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Australia. A magical autumn afternoon for these two lovers on their wedding day with an amazing glowing warm sunset.

Liviu and Cosmina are special people. I know it sounds cheezy and clise, but when you see the film, you really get to understand the connection between them. Life circumstances made them live and work far away from their families, in Morocco. This fact only give you the best perspective when you look at their wedding day: a passionate and emotional reunion with friends and family. We were honored, as friends, to document such a beautiful day.

Holly & Ali got married in the beautiful Kingston Maurward in Dorchester UK. This is my favourite wedding of the year, the lighting was perfect, the day was perfect and I think I've done a pretty good job with the editing and grade with Film Convert :)

MUSIC VIDEO - An underground fight explodes into a collage of color.

Kara returns to her original tribe called the ‘Planters’. They have not seen her in years but suddenly realise that she is not the same person who left them. Kara is adamant that she has returned to save the tribe from imminent extinction but the Planter High Council exercise caution against her hysterical behaviour. Kara then tries to instigate a coup within the tribe with the hope of overthrowing the council hierarchy. Not all Planters are convinced by her claims but by injecting fear into the community chaos ensues. Made with Film Convert

The moody McKinney Cotton Mill in McKinney Texas was such a dream to be able to shoot at. The location was gorgeous, moody, and full of rich history. Cami and Sam were stunning and such fun people to spend the wedding day with.

This is a short trailer for an escape room located in Corpus Christi, Texas. The client has 3 rooms and this is the hardest to escape from. Shot using a Sony a6500 set as close as possible to a canon c100 Cine 2 profile. We then graded in Filmconver.

Daisaku & Takae have run their local grocery store in the hills of Hiroshima together for the last 53 years. In that time they have seen huge changes in their neighbourhood, and profound changes in the way local people shop for essentials. From humble beginnings selling cigarettes from a window in their family home to a bustling grocery store that served their community, they have seen and felt the rise of supermarkets and convenience stores and the impact that has had on their livelihood. Here they tell their story of how it started, what keeps them working, and what they will do when they finally retire. Kayla's life began ten weeks too soon. The resulting brain damage would impact her life in ways her parents could not have imagined. The inspiring story of a disabled ten-year-old girl and her quest for happiness.

'Faces of Fall' is a small project I did while working on my aerial cinematography skills. I am a filmmaker based in Lübeck getting more and more into aerial cinematography and photography. I am the kind of guy who needs projects like these and the burning desire that comes with them to get out and realise my ideas instead of just practicing movements over and over again. Getting a cinematic shot with a drone takes a quite some practice - not just the seamless flying part but also finding a good and interesting framing while having only 20 minutes of battery-time up in the air. I came up with the subject of fall and the roughness and beauty that comes with it all showcasing nature around Lübeck, Germany. Unfortunately I did not have the time to cover all facets (like storm and rain - but that would not have been able with the Phantom 4 anyway) - but I think I got lucky with the beautiful ones.
