One in a series of bumpers created for the 2013 Starz Denver Film Festival. Five artists were commissioned to create a work of art highlighting the festival theme of "Paint the Town Red". They were given complete creative control and we filmed the process, end product and interviews. Each bumper is 30 seconds, these are both put together with the slides at the end for easier viewing.
This and the other 4 mini documentaries focus on art and what it means to the artist and to the world. Individually they showcase an amazing artist, as a whole they give an idea of what it means to be an "artist".
Each short will be shown before the movies during the festival run, and the finished artwork will be on display in the Filmmakers Lounge at the Denver Pavilions. If you don't make it to the festival please visit their websites at:

Superman is the debut single from 21 year old Jersey Singer/Songwriter Frankie Davies. The song is a tribute to her Father who recently battled cancer. Heart-wrenching and inspiring, Frankie reminds her Dad how he inspired and encouraged her through his treatment and recovery. The video is a showcase for Frankie and was shot in the Jersey Opera House. Apparently we were the first crew to shoot a video/film in this magnificent building.

Mickey Gaidos and Terry Adams team up to produce this video in which Terry drops a few new moves and shares his thoughts on riding… "I honestly put my heart and soul into this thing, so it means a lot to me. I focused the edit on the commentary because I wanted to let other riders around the world to know that BMX is about freedom and doing what you love.” - Terry Adams "Whenever the dynamic duo of Terry Adams of Mickey Gaidos team up, the end result is nothing short of amazing..." - Jeff Z, Ride BMX magazine “...Hit play and watch this one!” - Effraim Catlow, Flatmatters Online “...Enjoy the next 4 minutes of flatland eye candy. By Mickey GaidosThis music video is for Cleveland, Ohio recording artist and The Voice contestant Anthony Paul. Anthony and 3 of the member's of the video team for this video grew up in Twinsburg, Ohio. Each of them moved to Los Angeles separately but linked up after a few months to shoot this video for Anthony. The song, "Free", carries a message of freeing yourself to achieve your goals. The visuals of the video and the choreography go hand and hand starting in black and white on a background with a deep white abyss. The song slowly transitions to a colorful "freeing" mountain landscape. As a team, we looked to no software other than Film Convert to finish off this video and give it the look we imagined.

Shot with Canon G7X, edited with Final Cut Pro + FilmConvert. The Isola di Sant'Erasmo (St. Erasmus) is the largest island in the Venetian lagoon, though it's only sparsely populated. For years this has been Venice's countryside, the agricultural zone which produces the fruit and vegetables consumed by the hungry city. Among its produce, particularly renowned are the artichokes (carciofi). The landscape is flat, and dotted with farms and rural small-holdings. It couldn't be more different from Venice, whose bell-towers and churches can be seen on the skyline.

Only with backpacks and tent we went on a 4-day hike from Mestia to the medieval village of Ushguli, where time seemed to stand still. In this short film I wanted to capture this majestic place and the beauty of this raw landscape.

This cosmetics company brand film called for delicate pastel colors, warmth and beauty, producing eye-catching imagery along the cyan-orange axis. The sun was either enhanced or added in post as veiling flares, as well as stock foreground elements. The make-up and skincare products were highlighted and kept true-to-form using actual product samples. We paid particular attention to skin tones across varied conditions- dawn, midday, evening and night, seeking a sophisticated urban lifestyle feel, and going for an airy, low-contrast look, with open shadows and diffused highlights.
