Had one morning free while in Albuquerque, so decided to make a short on all the fun things that Fiesta is about.

I remember my childhood days where there was nothing but a dusty old dirt field and a bunch of balloon fanatics.

I wanted to capture what time in the mountains meant to me. On a recent trip where I would typically spend my time skiing, I took the time to get into the back country and explore the mountain regions at a slower pace. It meant a lot of strenuous hikes and climbs but the serenity and beauty of this wondrous environment more than made up for it.

A few months back, I embarked on an impromptu day trip to Philadelphia with my good friend Seth Nenstiel. The mission was to relax, capture beautiful images, break in my shiny new Blackmagic Cinema Camera, and converse deeply about life and God and such. It was an awesome day. A small walk-in Alberobello, a small town in Apulia (South Italy) internationally know for 'Trulli', a unique kind of home. It's also an UNESCO site and every year million people from all over the world come to see this town where time seems to be stopped many years ago.

INTO WHITE is a narrative short video that captures Egyptian adventurer Omar Samra's as he tries to complete "The explorer's grandslam" by skiing to the geographic south pole.

After 10 days, thousands of steps and a few dry meals Omar Samra was able to raise the Egyptian flag over the continent of Antarctica, where Roald Amundsen first reached, to become the first Egyptian to ever ski to the south pole and to be only short of the north pole to complete an ever lasting dream to complete the grandslam.

The video was shot using 2 GOPRO cameras ( Hero 4 Silver + Hero 2 ) + Canon D550 + Iphone 6 plus.
Edited and Coloured using Adobe premiere CC & Film convert pro + Twixtor.
Compositing was done using Adobe After Effects.

We travelled to Ireland twice on a couple of decent forecasts. I absolutely love these trips and managed to pick up the camera and also fly the drone when I was out of the wetsuit. Favignana is a beautiful island off the west coast of Sicily part of the Aegadian Islands . It's rich history, deep azure waters, and friendly locals make for a perfect island experience. This was filmed during our three day visit to the island. The hike to the old Spanish fort is 3km each way. The island was well known for it's massive tuna fishing industry, but in the last 20 years it's main source of income has become tourism.

In April we were lucky enough to visit Turkey to work on a couple of documentaries. Whilst we did not have a lot of free time, we managed to spend a day in Istanbul and explore this beautiful and culture-rich city and tried to make the most out of it. This a short portrait made of scenes and places we saw during that day.

Here's a quick, low rez clip from our upcoming travel series WEWANNAGO. Episode 1 has us travelling through Turkey with stops in Istanbul, Cappadocia and Pamukkale. This short clip shows my wife Kseniya, her brother Kirill and myself (camera guy) taking our first steps into the historic site of Aya Sofya (Sancta Sophia). I've stripped out most of the voice overs and typographic/3D overlays— Saving the best for last :) So far, this episode is sitting around 9 minutes and that's just enough to show off the best of what Istanbul has to offer.
