A spot highlighting a new start-up that was created to address the growing demand for uncrowded, accessible outdoor spaces. With increasingly crowded cities, more folks are looking to get away - from the city and from the crowds. Campgrounds are often busy, and the backcountry isn’t always an option. That’s why the good people at LandApart are working with landowners to provide access to their unique and wild lands.

This is the first of two segments that I made for the wonderful One Day In Denver filmmaking project.

The second piece will focus on the journey of the paper boats from Cherry Creek Reservoir, moving North along Cherry Creek, and into the city, culminating in their arrival at Confluence Park in Denver, where Cherry Creek meets the Platte River, and begins it's long trip east to the Mississippi, and eventually the Atlantic Ocean.

A million thanks to my awesome assistant and 2nd camera operator, Kris Farruggia for lending his time, effort, talent and commitment to helping me execute such a goofy idea.

Lasting Sympathy is the story of Jeff and Will, two best friends whose friendship is tested through an intense dispute between them at Will's house after a rough party. We see how one moment can alter a human relationship and show the complexities that can come with it.

Lauren + Ben braved the rainy and brisk October weather to create some amazing images for their wedding. It wasn't easy filming while holding umbrellas the entire day, but completely worth it.

Lauren and Greg's wedding filled a whole weekend at Avalon Hotel in Palm Springs so they had plenty of time to hang out and enjoy time with each other and their guests. The pool party the day (shot with a GoPro) before the wedding was a blast and their dance moves were amazing! Graded with FilmConvert.

I was supposed to make an ordinary video presenting Finlands national instrumet the Kantele. Well, things got a little out of hand...

Anyway, first part of the song is done solely with Kantele (adding multiple guitar and other effects to it though) and then the rest is a little Dirty Loops inspired (they are just great!). The video was filmed at an old factory in Helsinki. I do play all the instruments on the recording and I've also done the whole music productions. This has been a fun project that I just had to do.

LAWS Whisky House is based out of Colorado. 100% of their ingredients are grown in state and recently won Whiskey Magazine’s 2017 World Whiskies Awards "Best American Rye Whiskey."

This film is a music video about a desperate character who wants to see the sea. Here, the sea is a comparaison to real happiness but in reality this is a superficial hapiness.

The film tells the story of a French family business specialized in the production of high quality frozen products.

This is an entry in the FilmConvert Cinematography competition for 2015. Genre: documentary.

It was filmed at Le Mont Saint-Michel in Brittany in France.

The film was shot using a Sony FS100 camera mounted on a Manfrotto video monopod. It was edited in FCP X and colour-graded using FilmConvert. The music, "We Bow Down Before Your Cross", was made famous in cinema by Chris Marker who used it to great effect in his short film "La Jetee".

Leah is a character profile short that was filmed on-location at the City Methodist Church, located in Gary Indiana, it’s one of the best known and most popular Midwest locations for movie crews, indie films, music video's and photographers.

Leah Shortell is an independent documentary filmmaker and photographer from Chicago, Illinois. She has traveled the world for her work, visually capturing life and culture one frame at a time. She graduated in 2012 with a Masters of Fine Arts in Independent Film and Digital Imaging, and currently teaches digital film and speech courses at Saint Xavier University in Chicago.
