Humanitarian mission in Armenia.

This one is all about hipster culture. The narrative is people magically walking out of a dark room into various places- a trailer, a parking lot, a field, a city street. Color helped us define a location and time of day, from dawn to dusk, and differentiate between the different locations and storylines. The blacks are lifted, the shadows are tinted and grain is added to create an analog, warm feeling and the entire piece feels airy, organic and free flowing. Our references were the Instagram/VSCO esthetic- each scene was actually matched to a reference frame from the director’s Instagram feed, producing variety and color contrast between scenes, and eye-pleasing imagery. Each scene uses a complimentary color scheme- my favorite one being the royal violet/yellow of the field.

Experimental short film about traditions, legacy, family and passing down memories to the future. This was born out of a conversation about youth in the digital age and having my parents home for Christmas. The symbolism of orange is red and yellow coming together to create something new; two generations colliding to create a new one. Shot on the RED Epic-W and graded with Filmconvert Kodak 5213

Hitasha is a lead cake designer and owner of The Cakery Bake Shop and this girl can design cakes like no other. Being a South Asian Videography studio, we get to work with many vendors but it’s an honor when we get to film their own wedding. During my early discussions with Hitasha and Kunal, I learned three things very quickly: they have a great love story, they love Bollywood and she is going to design her own cake. I knew that if we somehow capture these three things, we will achieve the goal of capturing something which means lot to them. When it comes to Bollywood, what can be better than lovebirds in the rain? They loved the idea and we decided to go with it. Long story short, it was challenging but fun to capture rain shots without having Bollywood budget. Since Hitasha is a cake designer she planned to make her own cake. Petter lived at a remote place called Mefjord on the Island of Sørøya for more then 40 years all by himself. It took him nearly half a century to build a road to his house - but he never owned a car. He died in 2014, but the place looks as he still lives there.

What started as two individuals who happened to be coworkers, blossomed into a union of two lives together in marriage. Megan and Dean were a thrill to work with. Last Fall, on a crisp autumn evening in Oct, I had the pleasure of capturing Meghan & Matthew Rhoades wedding at Oxon Hill Manor in Maryland. Working alongside talented photog, Kate Palker, and her great stable of shooters from Pearly Kate Photography, I was able to record every milestone of the big day. Running the show was Tori from Candy + Company, making sure the whole event came together perfectly. Last but not least, Meghan and Matthew's friends and family came out in full force to support their loved ones. And the trailer above is mere snapshot of the love and affection that went into making such a lovely day possible.

Moments of a summer afternoon on the beach with my daughter. Moments to remember.

Early this year we had the honor to document Kris and Emma's wedding. They rented the beautiful, yet moody and dark castle of Eckartsau, Austria.

Some moments from barefoot beach while I was out taking photos with my siblings. I didn't have an ND filter with me so the frame rate is crazy high to counter over exposure, and most of the shots were brief with no plans in mind for them. Instead of tossing this footage I decided to use it to experiment with color grading and decided to combine Filmconvert with an Osiris LUT.

Merve & Nils and their Elopement in Scotland

An intimate peek into one day in 11 years with my dog Mesha, a Miniature Pinscher. She came with me on trips all over Japan, spending a lot of time on the road, waiting for the right light and weather conditions to photograph rural and coastal areas. In September 2018 I started filming clips to rough out the concept and later re-shoot it with another camera in various locations over several months. Unfortunately in September 2019, Mesha passed away suddenly and unexpectedly before I could finish the project the way I had envisioned. This documentary is made with the footage I had up until that point.
