I spent 5 weeks filming a short doc in northern mongolia. We traveled through the taiga while the rangers involved in the protection of the lands did their work. I lived with them the entirety of the trip. This is a short edit from the larger production coming out this spring.

Monique and Erik are Brazilian filmmakers living in Canada, and they reached out to us as they loved our style and thought we'd be a good fit to film their ten-year vow renewal in Las Vegas. When we met the couple, heard it involved an Elvis impersonator, sequined cape and a Harley Davidson, there was really only one answer! Graded with FilmConvert.

We observe a young man. He s now sitting there weighing in on his options on how to commit suicide. He is not alone though, his other selves, the hippie, the cool guy and the old man are always with him. Together they go on a metaphysical journey through the young man s life, time and space don’ t matter anymore. We meet the young man as a boy-choir member, trying to run away from two very mean looking bullies. We join a party, where all his ex-girlfriends (and boyfriends) do nothing but complain about him, we go on an esoterically fuelled self healing trip and although he doesn’ t achieve spiritual enlightenment, he at least got enough material for an audiobook out of it. “monolog” is a 14-minute short film by the young Viennese-director Christian Thüringer, who also plays all the lead roles. The short film will was on festival tour world wide in 2014 and 2015 and won several awards, including best original screenplay, best actor and best video editing.

This footage of our road trip to the Snowy Mountains was all filmed by the kids with whatever device was in arms reach. They taught me a valuable lesson - Don't miss the moment, just point and shoot. I missed most of it faffing around with ND filters and exposure settings. Film size is 8mm Grain Strength is 100. Note: Much to my annoyance all of this was shot in portrait mode. Kids.

This is a follow up post to show how our Moonlight video looked like after it had been color graded. There were a handful of requests form viewers asking us to upload a graded version. We graded it with FilmConvert in Adobe Premiere Pro using the Sony A7s camera pack, Slog2 - S Gamut Profile, and the FJ 8553 ET FilmConvert Stock.

It was amazing to see how much color the A7s was able to bring out once we applied the Slog2 - S Gamut Profile to the clips. We desaturated the final grade to keep the moonlight feel.

The artist sent me an early mix of this track while I was on the road. I listened to the song for an hour straight, and had really vivid shots already in my head from the song and knew we had to give it an old-style treatment like this. I wanted a subtle and almost haunting narrative, set underneath beautiful southern-summer imagery. The artist was totally on board and let me follow my own vision for it. I love how it came out, and I really hope you enjoy it! This was a really intimate shoot- I shot and put everything together myself with no crew, and almost no artificial lighting. Props were made by hand, and actors were all volunteers. We shot this over a few different days here in the Nashville, TN area. Everything was shot on the Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4.6K with Sigma Art 18-35 and 50-100 1.8 zooms. Graded and edited in Resolve using Filmconvert!

After 5 years since their Fat Beats full length debut, Eternia & MoSS return with "Day & Night". Featured on MoSS's album "Marching to the Sound of My Own Drum", MoSS provides a hypnotizing and haunting sonic backdrop as Eternia struggles between spirit and flesh in her signature soul-excavating style. "Day & Night" explores the war going on inside every person, for "what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do" (St. Paul). The outcome of the battle is left unknown, as Eternia's chorus prays, "Don't let the sun set on me..." Director Ian Johnson cinematically explores themes of darkness vs. light, lust, and the multiplicity of one being. The visuals, as hypnotizing as MoSS's production, also pays homage to MoSS's psychedelic classic rock musicality in the colouring, editing, and aesthetic styling.

"Motivation Letter through the Alps" is a story, about a 1215 kms bicycle ride from Toulouse in the south of France to the city of Zurich in northeastern of Switzerland, crossing 2500 mts altitude in the Alps, to deliver by hand a motivation letter in three sports institutions: UEFA in Nyon, International Olympic Committee in Lausanne and FIFA in Zurich. Is a story without more pretensions, than being an open testimony of a person like you and like millions of others who pedal daily with determination to make their dreams come true. For me is a metaphor of life. I believe that we all have our own dreams that drive us to take our bicycle in one direction of the path of life. Our effort and determination is the daily pedaling needed to keep moving forward, and our fears and insecurities that we face on the road seem to be the great peaks of the Alps that I want to overcome them. This is not a story about winning or losing, but about having the courage to pursue our dreams. Mo

An extensive network of walking and mountain bike tracks are great ways of exploring the mountain, taking visitors past waterfalls, through fern glades and gullies, and opening up great views of Hobart and on good days the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. I acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal People as the Traditional Owners and ongoing custodians of lutruwita, Tasmania. We pay our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Street dancers of Paris. Passionate and free they express themselves on the streets of Paris, dancing by the emotions, not by the movements they've learned. I had a chance to film it and show them through my vision of Paris and this dancing culture as one whole.

Sometimes inspiring others to conservation starts with the simple act of giving them a place to walk. That's one of the driving forces which compelled Matthew Christiansen to spend this past summer digging trenches, cutting overgrowth, and maintaining the vast network of trails in the Monongahela National Forest located in West Virginia. In partnership with the Student Conservation Association and the U.S. Forest Service, Matthew set out to make his mark on the very lands which helped inspire his path to the study of environmental science. But as it goes with the outdoors, Matthew soon discovered the deeper truths of how a simple shovel and a pickaxe can move others to action.

“Imitation Diamonds” transforms Milwaukee, Wisconsin's east side into a dark and post-apocalyptic setting. Love, freedom, and relationships are in turmoil in the world that they see. A bleak but promising hope for happiness tries to shine through.
