Making music that speaks to and from and for the ghettos, mahragan producers create a world that doesn’t play by the rules of the ones they find themselves in. Their art captures all they come into contact with, from poverty to parties, harsh realities and vivid imaginations, feuds with the government and their friends alike. Bulaq is a snapshot of a group of friends living in one of Cairo’s oldest slums, one that’s more interested in exploring the insides of their minds than examining their outside circumstances.

SmashWerks Films' Director, Smash LeFunk, was approached by A Better Life Foundation, a non-profit organization helping put children through school, to travel to Burkina Faso, one of Africa's poorest countries, to document their journey. ABLF covers uniforms, school supplies, books, basic health care, eyeglasses for poor vision, wheelchairs for those with mobility issues, and they monitor academic progress monthly throughout the school year as well as provide counseling to address any domestic concerns. Smash was humbled and honored to be able to document ABLF's journey, witnessing first hand how impactful their mission is.

The moody McKinney Cotton Mill in McKinney Texas was such a dream to be able to shoot at. The location was gorgeous, moody, and full of rich history. Cami and Sam were stunning and such fun people to spend the wedding day with.

Growing up, I'd certainly dealt with my fair share of bullying, as I'm sure most everyone has, but I'd always wondered what was at the heart of it. I was burdened by it. As an adult, I still am. Very simply, how can people be so unkind? The prospect of seeking an answer via filmmaking was incredibly enticing. Again, I was hooked. In early 2015, writer/director/actor Ashley Shade shared her insightful play, "Catch," with me, and described a hugely ambitious educational campaign that would surround it. Her aim is to create a nationwide program designed to put teachers and students, young and old, bullies and bullied in the same space, eye-to-eye, in the hopes that digging deep will unearth a well of empathy and understanding. And, as just one small arm of the campaign, she wanted to turn the

CAVALLO is a short portrait about my father. He is a 71-year-old horse rider. Horse riding has been his passion for over 50 years now. As an experienced rider he gives us a brief glimpse of what he thinks is the essence of riding.

A simple story about a cyclist embarking on on his first century (100 miles) ride, paralleled with the challenges his son has taking his first pedal strokes of his own. Entry to FilmConvert competition.

The story was created based upon the idea of CERRUTI 1881's FW18 Unisex Collection, a shared wardrobe where girls borrow outfits from the boys. The key message, unisex, was expressed by a girl's quest for identity and her power to break the loop of time, space, and gender stereotype.

I shot on a Panasonic GH4 in 4k with a Baby Hypergonar anamorphic lens. I used Olympus Zuiko Pen F lens as my taking lens (38mm F1.9, 70mm F2 and the 100mm F3.5). I used a custom Baby Hypergonar Jacket from Redstan.com with 2 Tokina +0.4 achromatic diopters and a Narumi +3 diopter for close up shots.

Edited in Adobe Premiere and colored with Magic Bullet Colorista III and Film Convert
