Paradise Lost is a short film inspired by the Yemen refugee issue in Jeju island. Paradise can often be associated with a place of exceptional happiness and delight, and I am sure every day each one of us at some point during the day scrolls through their Instagram feed searching for the perfect vacation spot, and our own piece of paradise, where we can escape from all our troubles and the realities that surround us. Since the Yemeni refugees arrived on Jeju in April and May 2018, they have clearly found it difficult to integrate into the society but they are trying their best to fit in. We question the idea of what does paradise means. Is a place of beauty or is it something as simple as having a place to live? This short film was produced just 24 hours after another Saudi-led airstrike bombs down on a school bus killing at least 29 children. During filming one of the refugees, we met told us, “When I heard the news about the airstrike (on the 9th August) it was too p

I'm a big fan of Yann Tiersen, and in fact, I also have a few Philip Glass vinyls on the shelf. There's just something about repetitive, switching runs that makes your brain fill in the gaps. Lately I've been thinking about composing something that is reminiscent of Amélie or The Hours, AND film something to go with it (or maybe the other way around). As luck would have it, I found myself in Paris. Hopefully this track will do these great composers justice.
NO tripod, one lens, and a Black Magic Pocket camera, I decided to film five days in Paris - run and gun style - this is on purpose. There are some things I miss: the morning just after the streets were washed, accidentally finding a manicured garden... decorative building after decorative building... I miss you Paris.

PARIS.MACHINE.LOVE is a tiny short film on a moment of love and compassion between (wo)man and machine, filmed in Paris. The short film is about artificial intelligence and the first ATM/cash machine to gain consciousness - as machines become ever more evolved and connected to the world. The idea being it is that they are coded by men, in a language which is different from ours but would still allow for (human) error - or bugs. As opposed to the traditional view that intelligent machines would be 100% rational entities, this film takes into account human flaws as trait or characters that would be passed on to them. And so therefore the cash machine in the film assumes human-like behaviour and is prone to the same flaws and weaknesses. But the core message is that we don't know what machines will do in the future when they surpass our capabilities - and how we interact with them is likely to influence this as well. If we treat them badly, they might reciprocate. As per
