In the minds of many, Colombia is still regarded as a dangerous country. One which only summons up images of Pablo Escobar and the guerrilla fighters. Yet with the peace agreement in 2016, Colombia is finding peace. Filmmakers Simon Straetker and Tobias Hauser set out to discover this different side of Colombia— one that isn’t featured in the bombastic headlines. During their four-week road trip across the nation’s center and coast, they experienced the most friendly people from every stratum of Columbian society. People who welcomed them into their homes, shared their views on the world and gave them a candid glimpse into what the Colombians want their nation to be like. Their short film features those very encounters and places.

And give me the death that I need. Baby. The film explores the topic of the female dead body and how it is shown on screen: exposed, conventionally attractive and sexualized despite its lifelessness. Growing increasingly frustrated with this passive depiction, the director chose to revive the dead woman, so she could speak her mind and regain some agency.

The aim of the piece is to show the intricacy, precision workmanship and thought that goes into manufacturing the designs of the COZÌ design partnership. Yuval and Ofir (the designers) took us with them behind the scenes, and the color highlights the textures, materials, tools and machinery used in the fabrication process. The use of FilmConvert gave us an organic look, emphasized textures and differentiated the warm wood and the cool metals. We also tried to add contrast and enhance the dramatic lighting, and showcase the final design in all its glory.

Captured in the Magic City's Spring Garden neighborhood and starring local scenesters Jessy Nite, Nick Lobo, Magnus Sodamin and the members of the notorious Jacuzzi Boys; Moon stars in the role of his own Cracker Jack alter ego in a trajectory that mirrors Rick's own addiction struggles in a cinema short of the absurd. The earnest and energetic sound of Rick Moon and a rhythm section supplied by Luis Del Valle of Buscabulla becomes the soundtrack for a surprise party, a bust, an oddball trial and strange rituals complete with a house party performance that elevates our anti-hero to states of higher consciousness and well being.

Randy Durden, 34, pill-addicted just got left by his cheating girlfriend. On the way to 'The Pork Shelter', their favorite BBQ-Hut, he takes an overdose of drugs in his truck. Arriving there he starts to mix up reality with his imagination. What then happens is beyond good and evil: DANCE ROBOT.

This wedding film was something out of the ordinary; we wanted to treat it like a short film and really drive the film's emotions through music and visuals. We left California with storyboards, color grade plan, and song selection. The next step was getting the shots and completing the film. I love the pairing of my Blackmagic Ursa mini pro with FilmConvert. It also matches so nicely on my DJI Phantom4Pro footage. Anyways, ENJOY!

My Brother and I were asked by dear friends to shoot their special day. This was the first time we had the opportunity to shoot a wedding, and although stressful at times, it was an incredible learning experience. You have one shot to to capture the highlights of the bride and grooms day, and being able to tell the story while still keeping the viewers attention was challenging. We were pretty happy how it turned out, I hope you enjoy.

Two best friends on a road trip witness a crime – and find themselves with a third passenger. Originally shot for the 48 Hour Film Project.

We fear most what we cannot see. Our protagonist has been walking for days on end—for what purpose? Good, evil, revenge, escape? Should we pity or fear the tortured man who once walked among us? Taking visual cues from the canon of classic 80’s sci-fi, most of the story unfolds overnight in a destitute underground parking lot. As the song breaks into its instrumental finish, we are transported to an affluent residential neighbourhood, mid-day, jogging, clean. The story fumbles many knots without untangling any of them, clearing in front of us a path of endless questions.

Dear Monday Two words that best describe an idea that I had been wanting to use as a premise for a short film for about a year. When my friend Antoine hired me to shoot commercial work in Utah back in April of this year, I figured this was a golden opportunity to do it. The location and timing were perfect to stay a few extra days and work on a fun personal project for which we had total creative freedom. We traveled through the desert in an RV for 7 days, hiked, ran, rode, jumped, screamed and laughed from dawn to dusk; classic indie filmmaking.
