Traditional wedding between a 13 year old young woman and a 14 year old young man This wedding is a part of a whole not yet finalised documentary about Roma in Roumania; Roms, are a traditionally nomadic ethnic group, living mostly in Europe and the Americas and originating from the northern regions of the indian subcontinent Filmed with a Sony FS7, mounted in Avid, graded in DaVinci Resolve 12.5 using FilmConvert OFX KD 5207 Vis3 and Fj 8553 ET

This is the 7th film from the Ron's Birthday series films.
This time Ron is 7 years old and Dan (his little brother) is 3 years old.
As usual.... A lot of adventures.... Sea, colors, biking, running and more and more.... :-)

The challenge:

Usually on set you have plenty of time to shoot, perfect lighting, makeup&hairstyling, lot of people for operating the camera, lenses, full equipment and, overall, real actors.
Here I’ve tried to put myself out of “the comfort zone”, pulling my skills to the limits because I think this is the way to improve oneself, which is something you never stop doing.
I did this little video, inspired by the Massive Attack music video “I want you”, having only me on set and:

> one friend: Ilaria Fantini who is not a professional actor, this was the first time for her in front of the camera
> one camera: Red One mx
> one tripod: Cartoni C20S
> one lens: Sigma 18-35 1.8 with CineMorph filter from VidAtlantic
> only ambient lighting
> few hours at disposal for shooting
> few hours for editing

Episode 5 of Rough Hands took me on a roadtrip from Brisbane to the ACT, to meet Karim Haddad. A CEO turned bladesmith, who now runs a nationally acclaimed knifemaking business and training academy. Yuki is the Japanese word for snow. Any attempt to portray Rusutsu without mention of the Yuki that falls here would be a very incomplete illustration of Rusutsu, Hokkaido, or even Japan. The snow is why we go to Japan in the first place, thus in the snow is where our video journey to Rusutsu begins. This is why we dedicate the first episode solely to the incredibly deep and unbelievably light snow that buries Rusutsu each winter. This is the first reason we travel to Japan; to find that feeling we are looking for when we chase Japow.

A promo video I did for the Rutgers Formula racing team, which helped them raise enough money for new materials for their racecar.

I sat down with Portland based film photographer Ryan Muirhead and we spoke about Depression, Anxiety, Suicide, and his journey into becoming the well known photographer that Ryan is today. Making this documentary style interview film with Ryan was a moving and much needed experience for me. I got into film making to connect with people and share stories to help eachother, along the way I lost my direction and hit a huge emotional challenge, but it was needed, I needed to stop and look at my map. Ryan tells an insightful story about his journey through depression and his daily battle with anxiety in this film, and we learn a lot more about what means to be Ryan Muirhead. Ryan is driven by photography and especially film photography helps him cope through his challenging times. Talking, Hanging, Filming with Ryan and making this film helped me to reconnect with my passions and meanings. This video is based on a single camera footage I did, watching Saint Agnes live at the Finsbury Pub in London. The rough clips were so inspiring, I decided to edit a videoclip for the band's latest single 'Sister Electric'. The video contains footage from different songs, also still captures, my brother did during the gig and some graphic art I found on the band's website. The main goal was to edit it like a multi camera videoclip, however it was recorded by one camera so you might notice some differences. I've put as much psychedelic 'trash' style including the FilmConvert film stock LUTs as I could to be loyal to a killer psychedelic rock band!
