Street dancers of Paris. Passionate and free they express themselves on the streets of Paris, dancing by the emotions, not by the movements they've learned. I had a chance to film it and show them through my vision of Paris and this dancing culture as one whole.
By RuslanSometimes inspiring others to conservation starts with the simple act of giving them a place to walk. That's one of the driving forces which compelled Matthew Christiansen to spend this past summer digging trenches, cutting overgrowth, and maintaining the vast network of trails in the Monongahela National Forest located in West Virginia. In partnership with the Student Conservation Association and the U.S. Forest Service, Matthew set out to make his mark on the very lands which helped inspire his path to the study of environmental science. But as it goes with the outdoors, Matthew soon discovered the deeper truths of how a simple shovel and a pickaxe can move others to action.

By Takashi HirukawaThis movie is a part of my bachelor exam art project ”Muskler, maskiner och kvinnokroppen, i en spegel av glas” (Muscles, Machines and the Female Body, in a Mirror of Glass).
My main material is glass and in this project I have worked with glassblowing, tecnique and alternative representations of the female body, using glass blowing and my own body as starting points. I have registered my muscles using muscle sensors while blowing the glass objects seen in this movie. I have then used specially written software to convert the sensors’ measurements into three-dimensional shapes which I have then recreated in blown glass. The new objects (the mirrors) manifest the body as actions and the work of muscles. The body shapes the glass and the glass craft shapes the body. We are influenced by how bodies are represented.
This movie communicates my thoughts behind the glass objets in my installation, and together the objects and the movie makes the story complete.

My grand-aunt Mimi asked if I could help her share the story of her life. Something like this is impossible to give justice in an 8 minute piece, but all I can hope is that the enormous amount of life that she had in her soul is apparent to all of those who watch this. I was fortunate to be able to finish the film and travel back to Washington in early July to show the film to Mimi at her beloved cabin on Whidbey Island. Unfortunately, a little over a month later Mimi had a sudden illness followed by a stroke with several complications, she passed away on September 26th, 2016. In this moment, Mimi would prefer us celebrate her life, rather than be saddened by her death. So, here's to Mimi! I hope this film encourages those who see it to take a moment and capture a story from one of their elders on whatever media is available. The worth of these stories is invaluable and life can take sudden, unexpected turns. Love you Mimi.
By George KFor as long as I can remember, I have gotten an incredible amount of inspiration from watching people, especially dancers, perform. Music also is something that pushes me to action, even if I don't know what that action ought to be; it simply compels me to do something. Even though I'm not a dancer or a musician, I wanted to make a little film that could express my love of those things and share it with you. Many many thanks go to Olivia Conlin, who was the dancer in the video as well as the choreographer. She worked so openly and freely with me to make this thing happen, and it was probably the best collaboration I've been a part of. I put her in pretty much every situation a dancer wouldn't want to be in, and she took every scene in stride. Never complaining or giving up; just awesome. The video was filmed entirely in Minnesota over the course of six months. The music is "Revival" by Ryan Taubert, and is licensed from The Music Bed. All rights to the footage are owned by me.

Hey! We just wrapped up this badass Indian wedding here in Santa Monica and the way FilmConvert is able to bring all these wonderful colors to life is magic! It truly helps me as an amateur colorist blend everything together and feel cohesive. I almost always use it as a final pass. The film is actually still a rough cut and it will have titles, a final pass for color, and volume adjustments. Other than that, enjoy a truly special couple and all the vibrant scenery and characters that come with the Santa Monica boardwalk. Cheers!

when all my stregth to chase my goals seems to be gone
