By William Markarian-MartinThis mini documentary takes a look in to the world of independent film making, and is a must watch for any one involved with, getting started in or just has a passing interest in film making. An alternative title for it could have been "How a couple of guys set up an Oscar nominated production company from nothing." It shows that there truly is "no set path" to success when it comes to film making, although there are a number of important traits, like passion, determination and high standards that certainly do help.
Jon Drever who is the co-founder and co-owner of Grain Media and a friend of mine very kindly let me into his professional world and spoke candily and honestly, allowing me to relive his journey in film making from very humble beginnings to running the extremely successful independent production company Grain Media. Its been an honour to be able to create something that hopefully goes some way to showing this inspirational journey.

"They say that when you're hit by the polar bug, you never leave." Don't say we didn't warn you. Nobody dies in Longyearbyen, or so goes the rumor. We went to the northernmost city in the world to find out why, and stumbled into the first act of a science fiction flick about something deadly, long buried in the permafrost.

By Jean PaulFinn Springborn chasing a swell close to the arctic circle: "I've always wanted to go to Iceland, so when everything came together and everyone involved in this trip had time we didn't hesitate and booked the flight right when we saw the huge red blop on the swell charts. Going on these kind of trips to places that are not really common to surf and where the forecast can change by the hour always comes with a little risk of not getting the waves you expect, but this time I got lucky and surfing in a bay with huge snow covered mountains wherever you look was one of the most beautiful and humbling experiences of my life!" I quizzed him on a few things so we can get, you curious people, as much information as possible! Used Filmconvert.

Just south of Guatemala City rests an Oasis. Never before have I witnessed or experienced God’s power at this magnitude.
If you haven't been exposed to a perspective such as this, I encourage you to explore this part of our world. While the need is indeed great, the impact we can have on individual lives and beyond may surprise you. Ripples turn into waves.
Thanks to David Cobb and Broken Shackle Ranch for helping us get down to shoot and being beside us on our journey.
Special thanks to the kindest, most sincere children and staff of the Oasis for taking us in as your own. We shall return.

By ScottPenny and Radel are the brilliant musicians that make up Oh Brother Big Sister. "Little Bitty" is a song that expresses the fun-loving, quirky nature of this musical duo, and their performance speaks to the natural chemistry that only siblings have with one another. The message behind the song is pretty simple: it's all about feeling the music, getting down, and letting your freak flag fly.
By Michael KentIn today's world with so much business, scandal, and constant feeling of dread, we often convince ourselves that everything is all right while the world is burning around us. Threats of nuclear war, famine, wildfires, and world leaders performing a farce on the world stage leave us realizing how little control we have in life. We suppress our fears, put on a smile, and tell everyone things are good.

By James WightmanLaura and Lauran were married under one of the many oak trees at Ojai Valley Inn which is great symbol of lasting marriage. As Laura mentioned the scenic venue provided a lot of great atmosphere without needing much added to it. Her style seemed to favor a timeless approach and she chose a photographer who shoots film which you don't see often these days. I choose to grade the film with a heavy film look to match the feel getting away from the latest push for ultra high sharp looking videos and staying away from effects like slow motion and drones. I prefer to focus on the important moments of the day by being patient and letting the action unfold in front of the camera rather than chasing it or setting up fake scenarios. Natural emotion, solid composition, finding the light and great audio are to me what makes this film stand apart. The music was licensed via the Musicbed and I choose to edit this film in mostly sequential manner rather than jumping around too much so the energy woul

Crafts are forerunners of industrial mass production. Craftsmen who perfected their craft would make their product from beginning to end. Once, the shops of old craftsmen such as candy makers, bookbinders, candlemakers, watchmakers or tailors could be seen everywhere, but now they are few and far between. Although these professions are not lucrative anymore, there are several craftsmen in Belgrade who save their crafts from oblivion. As a rule, anyone who practices old crafts inherited that occupation from the previous generations as a family tradition. Mass production enabled products which are far cheaper than the ones old craftsmen used to make and slowly made old crafts sink into oblivion. Shot on the Sony FS7 and Samyang Cine lenses we above all wanted to convey the idea of a journey. A journey both physical and of the mind, that leads from a place of stagnancy to the opening of an entirely new form of consciousness; if only for a brief moment in time. Authenticity is hard to lock in on in this new world and love is almost as elusive and abstract a concept as the digital realm that we now inhabit. However, hope has taken form.
By Richard Jenkins (Director) and Laurent Chesneau (DOP)What began as a promotional film for a travel agency in Africa developed into a documentary that explores the intricate bonds connecting man and wildlife in one of the continent’s most magical corners. The film follows a family travelling through Tanzania, capturing the land’s beauty and serenity. In addition to stunning scenics, the film features some very close up shots of lions, hippos, giraffes, elephants and other animals in their natural habitat. It explores local tribes’ secrets, offering insights to their everyday lives, including the Maasai’s aversion to hunting and little-known musical prowess. By Kiba WolfIt's not often that weddings look beyond the horizon, to something bigger, something more than even two madly in love could contain. It's rare, but not impossible. Such is a Christian wedding at its purist. In a deeply surprising and yet practical way, the Bible says that marriages points at the cosmic, capital 'M' marriage of Jesus and the believers that make up the Church. As a man of faith, a leader at my church AND a wedding cinematographer I happily celebrate weddings from faiths across the board. But every once in awhile I am refreshed by a couple of whom I share this deep conviction - that the day is about them - of course it is! - but it's about so much more.
