By Kieran DuncanI've recently discovered that my purpose in the pursuit of film is to communicate with people further. To connect with people who share similar perspectives on a level that I can't reach otherwise. This piece is something I'm passionate about, something that moves me with a need to call out to others. My hopes are that this in some way ignites a fire inside you, and you run after something you love. Music: A. Taylor - Treeline At Night | Licensed through Musicbed Colorgrade with FilmConvert

By side project limited b m journeeMy grand-aunt Mimi asked if I could help her share the story of her life. Something like this is impossible to give justice in an 8 minute piece, but all I can hope is that the enormous amount of life that she had in her soul is apparent to all of those who watch this. I was fortunate to be able to finish the film and travel back to Washington in early July to show the film to Mimi at her beloved cabin on Whidbey Island. Unfortunately, a little over a month later Mimi had a sudden illness followed by a stroke with several complications, she passed away on September 26th, 2016. In this moment, Mimi would prefer us celebrate her life, rather than be saddened by her death. So, here's to Mimi! I hope this film encourages those who see it to take a moment and capture a story from one of their elders on whatever media is available. The worth of these stories is invaluable and life can take sudden, unexpected turns. Love you Mimi.

By Alex MagillSo, there was this box that was really important to Luke & Amy. They had a tradition, in his family, of putting two bottles of wine and two love letters into that box that they would read every year on their anniversary. They would then re-fill the box with two new bottles and two new letters for the next year. How cool is that!? Not to mention, the box is pretty epic. These kids were a lot of fun and very in love!
By Todd DownsCowboy Jesus, as some jokingly have called him, bestows trust and bravery into the horse. He reflects on his own struggles and how those difficulties shaped the horseman he is today. There is quiet therapy in horses. We were honored to spend some time with Joel and shed light on his humbled character.

We tried to convey the feeling of the experience through the mix of color, film grain to play off the textures and sound.

By Jennifer ParlantiFollow a group a person's with disabilities, along with volunteers and family members, as they travel to Romania to inspire and share what their lives look like with the hope that by doing so, they will be helping to make the world a better place for others with developmental challenges. This Is How Change Happens: One Person One Gesture One Moment at a Time Even though Romania is a developed nation, its attitudes toward people with disabilities lag about 50 years behind those in British Columbia. There are very few services there, and those that do exist have a largely institutional model.

By Taz GoldsteinSometimes inspiring others to conservation starts with the simple act of giving them a place to walk. That's one of the driving forces which compelled Matthew Christiansen to spend this past summer digging trenches, cutting overgrowth, and maintaining the vast network of trails in the Monongahela National Forest located in West Virginia. In partnership with the Student Conservation Association and the U.S. Forest Service, Matthew set out to make his mark on the very lands which helped inspire his path to the study of environmental science. But as it goes with the outdoors, Matthew soon discovered the deeper truths of how a simple shovel and a pickaxe can move others to action.

By PEDRO LATORRE FILIZZOLAThis footage from a open-pit coal mine in Germany was taken on one late afternoon in March 2014. It gives a brief impression of a longtime documentary about this coal mine near the city Cologne. The tilt-effect was invariably achieved by using a 30 years old large format camera (Sinar f) and a Rodenstock lens 180mm/5,6. Slightly color graded with Filmconvert Pro (Settings Landscape, Velvia) and due to the strong wind stabilized in AE and separately recorded sound.
