This wedding film was something out of the ordinary; we wanted to treat it like a short film and really drive the film's emotions through music and visuals. We left California with storyboards, color grade plan, and song selection. The next step was getting the shots and completing the film. In today's world with so much business, scandal, and constant feeling of dread, we often convince ourselves that everything is all right while the world is burning around us. Threats of nuclear war, famine, wildfires, and world leaders performing a farce on the world stage leave us realizing how little control we have in life. We suppress our fears, put on a smile, and tell everyone things are good.

In April we were lucky enough to visit Turkey to work on a couple of documentaries. Whilst we did not have a lot of free time, we managed to spend a day in Istanbul and explore this beautiful and culture-rich city and tried to make the most out of it. This a short portrait made of scenes and places we saw during that day.

14th of December is the release date of Star Wars Episode XIII. For this occasion, german a cappella Ensemble Soundescape have recorded their version of John Williams famous Cantina Band, originally written for Episode IV. The video was shot with a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera on a shoulder rig in combination with a Metabones Speedbooster, a Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art and a Samyang 14mm 2.8 lens. Editing was done with DaVinci Resolve. The use of FilmConvert Pro and its seamless integration into Resolve has made grading the footage a breeze and played a huge part in being able to produce the entire video including audio recording and post production quickly in a matter of days!
